The Abingdon—Identity +
A rebrand for The Abingdon, a restaurant in Kensington,
London. The historically appropriate wordmark is
inspired by their building.
An inn has been recorded on the site since 1869.
And the earliest surviving photograph of the street
from 1919 shows beautiful hand painted typography
along the fascia of the building.
This new identity revives that tradition.
The new menu covers feature reproductions of murals
painted on the building in 1999.
